The deal which critics describes as “finger licking” gives Ahlu Sunnah five senior ministers, a junior minister, 3 ambassadors, deputy commanders of all armed forces and unidentified number of law makers as the parliament is to be increased in number.

In return, Ahlu Sunnah forces should be integrated with TFG armed forces, and all its territory should come under government administration.

The deal got thumps up from the cabinet, speaking yesterday from Mogadishu after chairing cabinet meeting; PM Omar Abdirashid welcomed the pact as a step forward and praised it as historical. He is said to be relieved after Ahlu Sunnah withdrew their original demand that they should be given the PM post which he holds.

 This finalises the biggest obstacle standing in the way of planed government offensive against Alshabaab and Hizbul Islam. Now not only the deal convince Ahlu Sunnah take part in this offensive but also TFG will have a territory to govern outside the few blocks in the capital.
